3 reasons to watch this talk: Hrishikesh Hirway
This month I want to share a lovely talk by Hrishikesh Hirway. He’s the host of one of my favourite podcasts, ‘Song Exploder’. He has also taken the concept behind it and adapted it for Netflix.
His TED talk is a beautifully constructed 10 mins, with an original composition after. These are 3 things that I think worked well that you could look out for if you watch it:
1. A well-constructed analogy, introduced right at the beginning, and then threaded purposefully throughout.
2. Use of gentle humour, which provides a light touch amidst the analysis and poignancy.
3. Excellent pacing. The talk is delivered clearly, and rhythmically, with well positioned pauses to allow the audience to absorb different points.
I love that he brings the art of speaking and listening together. I hope that you enjoy it.
